'Michael died caring for those he loved deeply'
THERE hadn't been a murder in Skerries since the Civil War.
But the brutal stabbing of Michael Gannon has left the seaside town reeling.
Mr Gannon's last act was to ask his grandchildren to get help.
They were playing as their grandfather went to answer the door.
Yesterday afternoon, those at the scene said Michael Gannon died caring for the two children he loved deeply.
"He would always come (to visit). He bought them loads of things. He bought them a dog and he took care of them," the neighbour said.
