Met Eireann issues wind warning for entire country

Met Eireann has issued a “Yellow Alert” as it warns of wind speeds upwards of 100 km/h in some areas.

The forecasting body said that the country could expect “strong winds” over the next 24 hours, with many gusts reaching speeds of 35-55 km/h.

Some exposed areas however will be blasted with speeds closer to 100 km/h.

The yellow weather warning is in place for the entire country until 3pm on Monday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Met said that some well scattered showers could be expected tonight, with temperatures falling to below 8 to 10 degrees.
