'Message in a bottle' Waterford boy embarks on trip of a lifetime to Canada

A young Irish boy has won the trip of a lifetime for his family after discovering a message in a bottle in Passage East, Co. Waterford.

Little Oisin Millea discovered his "treasure" as it washed ashore near his home.

Two Canadian girls, from the province of Quebec, had dropped the bottle into the Atlantic Ocean while they were on holidays.

And after tracking down the two women, Quebec's Tourism Minister Pascal Bérub has invited Oisin and his family to enjoy a 12-day trip to the province to commemorate his find.

In return, Tourism Ireland has also invited the two women on a trip to Ireland this summer.

Oisin has set up a designated Twitter account to document his unique trip to Canada, and you can follow him on @messgeinabottle.
