Medicine labels court hearing

THE High Court granted permission last night for a hearing on the alleged failure of the State to label medicines in both English and Irish.

Under the EU directive, companies are required to ensure their labels and information leaflets are in the official languages of the EU state.

The case against the Health Minister, the Attorney General and the Irish Medicines Board was brought by journalist Tomas Mac Ruairi. It will be heard later this year.
