MDMA and Xanax worth €344k seized after routine traffic stop

Gardai have seized MDMA and Xanax tablets in a raid in Co Kildare.

The MDMA was worth €325,000, while the tablets were worth an estimated €19,000 according to gardai.

The large haul was found after a car was stopped by Naas Traffic Corps who were conducting an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR).

The car was stopped for having no tax and insurance and when searched the drugs were discovered.

"A man in his late 30s and a woman in her early 30s were arrested today in the Naas area and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Naas Garda Station," a garda spokesperson said in a statement.
