A string of four-figure bets has turned Mairead McGuinness into odds-on favourite with the bookies to win the Fine Gael presidential nomination.
Paddy Power has reduced her odds from 6-4 to 8-11.
Gay Mitchell is second favourite at 9-4, ahead of Pat Cox at 7-2 and Avril Doyle at 20-1.
Ms McGuinness has also emerged as 9-4 second favourite to be elected President, with Labour candidate Michael D Higgins still the most fancied choice at 2-1.
