President Mary McAleese has signed the legislation ratifying the Lisbon Treaty, making the 'yes' vote in this month's referendum legally binding.
The treaty was approved by 67% of voters on October 2nd, overturning the previous rejection of the document in June 2007.
Mrs McAleese signed the bill at Aras an Uachtarain yesterday evening after she returned from a state visit to Luxembourg.
