Mastercard announces up to 130 high-end jobs
MASTERCARD has begun recruiting an Irish team to work on "game-changing" technologies which will forever alter the way we pay for goods.
The credit card company announced yesterday that it will create up to 130 high-end jobs, as it bases its global technologies office in Blackrock, south Dublin.
The research and development section of MasterCard will now be led out of Ireland.
Garry Lyons of MasterCard Ireland said: "New recruits will work on projects which are truly game-changing, developing payments innovations that will change the way consumers transact during the course of their daily lives."
Meanwhile, Indian business services and IT outsourcing provider HCL Technologies is to open a customer services centre in Kilkenny, creating around 220 jobs.
And discount retailer Poundland will create 65 Irish jobs with the opening of two new Dealz stores today, in Cork and Athlone.
