The then-Minister for Agriculture and Food, Mary Coughlan, wrote to An Bord Pleanala on May 11, 2006 seeking an update on the application.

Ballybane Windfarms is part of Murnane and O'Shea, based in Bantry.

Records from SIPO show that in 2009, Murnane and O'Shea made two donations to Fianna Fail politicians -- a cheque for €1,000 to Edward (Ned) O'Keeffe and a cheque for €2,000 to Brian Crowley, MEP.
