Man's relief as his son's body found

A GRIEVING father last night spoke of his relief as he confirmed that a body found is that of his missing son, writes Greg Harkin.

David Colhoun (21) had been missing since May, when he escaped police custody in the North where he had been held on minor offences.

He was last seen running towards the river at Lifford, Co Donegal.

Yesterday workmen clearing silt from the River Foyle found the remains of Mr Colhoun, two miles downstream from where he was last seen.

DNA tests are being done but his father Joe said he had identified a top his son had been wearing.
