A man has had his eye socket broken and a leg fractured in an assault in Co Antrim.

The victim, aged in his 50s, was attacked at around 6.45pm yesterday at a garage forecourt on Castle Street in Ballycastle, Co Antrim.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

A short time later it was reported that a man and woman had been assaulted in licensed premises on Castle Street, suffering minor injuries.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the Castle Street area of Ballycastle yesterday evening and who witnessed these incidents to contact detectives in Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101.
