Man's best friend gets new leash of life in art
Lines, piles and circles of dogs posed obediently but there wasn't a growl or bark of protest.
This pack of special canines formed part of 'The Dog Project' -- an exhibition of up to 120 papier-mache dogs that were put on show yesterday in the Camden Palace in Cork.
The man behind the project, Cork-based artist Tom Campbell, said it had taken four months to complete and almost 130 people had volunteered their time in helping to make the paper animals.
"Why dogs? I don't really know why except they are fairly friendly, sociable animals and man's best friend," he said.
The exhibition will continue until Saturday next and the dogs will then be sold off with funds going to worthy causes, he added.
