Man shot twice on his doorstep after answering late-night call

A 25-year-old man was injured in a shooting when he answered a call to his front door in the early hours of this morning.

The man was hit in his knee and stomach in the attack in the early hours of this morning in his home on the Burrin Road, Carlow.

His injuries are not life-threatening.

Gardai said the man was shot at 2.25am and he was being treated at St Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny.

Witnesses or anyone with information relating to the case have been asked to contact Carlow Station at (059) 913 6620 or any other station.
