Man shot in the head on busy road in broad daylight
A man has been shot in the head in west Belfast.
His condition is not known and the incident is ongoing, according to the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
Shaws Road has been closed between Stewartstown Road and Rossnareen Road, the PSNI said.
No further details are available at this stage.
Sinn Fein Assembly member Rosie McCorley condemned the shooting.
"My first thoughts are obviously with the man who has been shot and I hope that he makes a full recovery," she said.
"The people who carried out this attack had no regard for the local community given that many people including children were heading to and from school and work at the time of the shooting.
"There can be no excuses or justification for shooting people on a busy road in broad daylight.
"I would appeal to anyone with information to bring it forward to the PSNI immediately."
