Man shot dead at travellers’ halting site in Dublin

A 49-year-old man was shot dead at a halting site in Dublin.

The incident happened at 9.50pm last night at St Margaret’s halting site in Ballymun.



The injured man was taken by ambulance to the Mater Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.



Gardai said a burnt out car found at Mayeston, St Margaret’s Road, Finglas is related to the incident.



The scene of the fatality has been preserved for forensic examination.
