Man rushed to hospital after shooting in Tallaght

A MAN has been rushed to hospital after being shot in Tallaght.

The incident took place at Kingswood Heights in Dublin 24.

At around 6.30pm a lone male approached and fired a number of shots at a car outside a house at The Grove, Kingswood Heights.

One of the occupants of the car, a man in his late 20s, sustained a gunshot wound during the incident.

The gunman fled the scene on foot.

The injured man was driven from the scene to Tallaght Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

His injures are not thought to be life threatening.

The scene is preserved for a technical and forensic examination.
