Man rushed to hospital after Navan blast

A garda investigation is underway today following a blast at a house in Navan, Co Meath.

Witnesses claim they heard a loud explosion at the house in Beechgrove estate shortly before 8am this morning.

Emergency services were rushed to the scene and a man, believed to be in his 40s, was taken from the house.

He was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for urgent treatment, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The house has been sealed off ahead of a technical examination later.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
