Man quizzed over death of woman (37)
GARDAI investigating the death of a Polish woman were last night questioning a man.
The 37-year-old woman was found injured in her flat on Upper Sherrard Street, in Dublin's north inner city, on Saturday.
Gardai arrested a man at around 4pm yesterday and he was last night being questioned at Mountjoy station. He was arrested under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be held for up to 24 hours.
Gardai called to the woman's flat at 11am on Saturday after receiving reports that a woman was injured.
They discovered the woman inside and she was rushed by ambulance to the nearby Mater Hospital, where she died.
A gardai spokesman said they were investigating "all the circumstance surrounding her death". They are understood to be examining a number of possibilities, including that she was the victim of an assault.
The woman is believed to have been a drug user and may have been in poor health for some time before her death.
