It is understood the victim was attacked after an argument about money in the car park of the Tougher petrol station just outside Naas in Co Kildare.

This is the second stabbing incident in Kildare in the past two weeks, sparking concern among locals. The injured man was rushed to Naas General Hospital for treatment following the incident on Monday.

A spokesperson for the Health Service Executive said he was in a stable condition. It is understood his injuries are not life-threatening.

The incident happened in the Newhall business park, about a mile and a half from Naas. It is understood the two men were arguing when a knife was produced and the victim was stabbed.

A man was later arrested in Newbridge and was brought to Naas garda station where he was held under section four of the Criminal Justice Act.
