Man questioned by gardai following €50k drug seizure

A man in his 30s is being questioned today after gardai found 9kg of cannabis resin worth €50,000 on the Navan Road yesterday.

Gardai from the traffic unit at Blanchardstown Garda station were on routine patrol in the Dublin 7 area when they stopped a 4 x 4 vehicle.

A search of the vehicle and found yielded almost 9 kilos of cannabis resin.

A 34-year-old man was arrested and taken to Finglas Garda station for questioning under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.

During a follow up search of a house at Pimlico, Dublin 8 a quantity of cannabis herb with a street value of approx €500 was discovered.
