Man killed in early morning road accident in Swords

GARDAI in Swords are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic accident in the early hours of this morning.

At around 2.30 a.m. a male in his 40s was fatally injured when the van he was a passenger in collided with car on the Rathbeale Road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the van and a second passenger, both aged in their 20s, were taken by Ambulance to Beaumont Hospital.

Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The scene of the collision has been preserved pending the arrival of forensic collision investigators and local diversions are in place.
