Man injured in shooting incident in Dublin city centre

A man has been shot in Dublin city centre tonight.

The man was rushed to hospital after the man was shot in the incident on Railway Street in Dublin 1. 

The shooting happened at Liberty House at around 9.55pm.

A garda statement reads:

"From initial investigations it appears that a man received a number of gunshot wounds to the body. He has been taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital where his injuries are described as non life threatening

"Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and  who may have information or who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious to contact them at Store Garda Station on 01 666 800 The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any Garda Station."

The victim of tonight's shooting is not believed to be involved in the Hutch/Kinahan feud. However he has connections to the Hutch family and Gardaí will now investigate if he was targeted because of this.
