A suspect has been arrested after a man was shot in the leg.

The gun attack happened at the door of a house at Fortlawn Park, Blanchardstown in Dublin, at around 5am on Sunday morning.

A Garda spokesman said the victim suffered minor leg injuries and is being treated in Connolly Hospital.

The suspect, who was aged in his 20s, was arrested a short time later.

He is detained at Clondalkin Garda Station where he can be questioned for up to three days.

Meanwhile, gardai are also investigating a separate shooting on the same estate earlier in the morning.

A shot was fired through the window of a house at around 2.20am.

The owners were in the house at the time, but no-one was injured in the incident.
