A man is being treated for minor injuries after he was knocked over by a wave on Howth's upper East Pier.

The male was treated by paramedics at the scene and transferred to hospital for an evaluation.

He was out walking the pier during the stormy weather when he suffered an ankle injury after being knocked over by the wave.

The Coast Guard have issued another appeal to members of the public to avoid piers, seafronts and cliffs until the storm passes.
