A HOMEOWNER is recovering in hospital today after he was assaulted during a burglary at his home in Dublin.
The victim, who is in his 60s, was at home with his teenage son when four masked men knocked on his door and demanded cash.
It is alleged that the men then assaulted the homeowner.
The incident occurred at 9.30pm at house on Fortfield Road in Terenure, South Dublin.

The gang fled when the victim’s wife returned home and disturbed them.
The victim was brought to St James’s Hospital for treatment for his injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
Gardai were responding to reports of the incident when they intercepted a red van near the scene and arrested the driver, a man in his 30s.
This man is being detained at Terenure Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The scene of the incident has been preserved for a full forensic technical examination.
