Man held over Real IRA boss murder

Alan Ryan was shot dead in Dublin in September last year

A man in his 20s has been arrested over the murder of Real IRA boss Alan Ryan.

The man was detained in the Dublin area on Wednesday morning and taken in for questioning at Coolock Garda Station.

Ryan, the leader of a faction of the terror group in north Dublin, was shot dead as he walked with an associate on Grange Lodge Avenue, Clongriffin, in the north of the city, on September 3.

The latest arrest was made under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
