A distressed man was detained by officers after a 40-minute stand off at the Garda Ombudsman's office.
The man, a non-Irish national in his early 20s, was lodging a complaint with a case worker when he became extremely agitated and started swearing and shouting.
The incident started at around 9.30am.
A Garda spokeswoman confirmed officers were called to a public order incident at the premises on Upper Abbey Street and one man was removed from the scene.
