A MAN had to have 20 stitches in his face after he was slashed in a brawl in the early hours of this morning.
Gardai have appealed for witnesses to the incident near the Central Bank in Dublin city centre at approximately 4am.
It is understood the 26-year-old had been in an altercation with youths shortly before the slashing.
Meanwhile, a man is in hospital following a separate stabbing in the city last night.
Gardaí are seeking witnesses to the serious assault which occurred on Cuffe Street in Dublin 2 at around 7.45pm.
A fight broke out between a number of men on Aungier Street and moved on to Cuffe Street.
One man received stab wounds to the upper leg and was taken to St. James' Hospital.
The victim is in his teens.
