Man fights for his life following aggravated burglary at his home

Four attackers involved in vicious assault that left occupier with serious head injuries

A Dublin man is this morning fighting for his life after fending off a vicious gang of burglars at his home in Jobstown.

The aggravated burglary happened just after 6.30am today.

The man bravely tried to fight off his attackers who burst into his Dublin home and demanded money.

The man, originally from the Philippines, was savagely beaten with hammers by a gang of burglars was rushed to hospital today with serious head injuries.

The gang beat him repeatedly for more than 15 minutes as they ransacked his home.

“It was like a bloodbath in the house. They were evil animals who attacked this nice, quiet man,” said a neighbour who was too terrified to give his name.

“We were woken up by the sound of screaming. The man was trying to fight them off but they kept beating him and shouting they wanted money,” he told the Herald.

Neighbours spoke of the bravery of the victim who tried to fight off repeated attacks by the gang of four young men at Knockmore Grove in Jobstown shortly before 7am today.
