A 21-YEAR-OLD man is due in court in the morning charged in connection with the stabbing of a teenage schoolboy.
The teen is recovering in hospital following the incident which occurred on a street in Drogheda, Co Louth yesterday.
The youngster, who was in his school uniform, was stabbed in the back.
The incident happened close to Whitworth Hall on Laurence Street at about 4.15pm on Wednesday.
Gardai were quickly on the scene as a member of the public noticed the start of the disturbance and telephoned Drogheda garda station.
A 21-year-old man from the town was arrested a short time later on the adjoining Chord Road and a weapon was also recovered. He is to appear in court in the morning.
Relatives of the student, who is recuperating in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, said his condition had improved and he was out of any danger.
