Man disappears from hospital

A SEARCH is expected to resume today for a 71-year-old man who disappeared from a hospital.

The alert was raised about 5pm on Sunday when the man went missing from a ward in Bantry Hospital in west Cork. Searches have been under way since.

The Coast Guard search and rescue helicopter based in Shannon, a local Coast Guard unit, gardai and the Bantry Community Rescue boat were all involved in the search yesterday.

It concentrated on the general town area and the pier.
