A MAN has died this morning in a single-vehicle accident.
The single incident happened in the Corbally area of Limerick city around 5am.
The victim was aged in his early 20s and it is believed the car he was travelling in struck a pole.
It is understood that he was travelling in the direction of Limerick city.
The area where the collision occurred at the Mill Road junction was sealed off as garda investigations continue.
Meanwhile, a teenager is fighting for his life after a car crash in Monaghan.
Gardai are investigating the collision on the N53 at Maghernakill at 6pm yesterday.
The injured teenager, who was travelling alone, was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and is described as being in a critical condition.
The driver of the second car involved was taken to Daily Hill Hospital in Newry with minor injuries.
The road is closed for a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.
Gardai in Castleblaney have appealed for information.
