Man dies in single vehicle road accident in Co Kerry

A 51-year-old man has died following a fatal traffic collision in Co Kerry yesterday evening.

The single vehicle collision occurred at Shrone East, Listowel in Co Kerry at approximately 8.40pm.

The 4x4 vehicle, which was being driven by the man, collided with a signpost.

The man, who was the only occupant of the car, was removed to Kerry General Hospital in Tralee but was pronounced dead at 11pm.

The section of the road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
