Man dies in early hours after stabbing at party in Cork

A MAN has died in Cork after a stabbing at a party in the early hours today.

The incident took place at Infirmary Road, Cork city at 2am and Gardai are appealing for any witnesses in the area at the time to come forward.



The victim, a local man in his early thirties, was taken to Cork University Hospital by ambulance, and was pronounced dead a short time later.



The scene is being preserved pending forensic examination by Garda Crime Scene Investigators.





One male and one female, both in their 20s, were arrested close to the scene and taken to the Bridewell Garda Station, Cork where they are detained under Section 4 of Criminal Justice Act 1984.



It is the second serious stabbing in Cork in the last 48 hours.
