Man dies in Dublin house fire after gardai rescue four others

A man in his 20s has died in a fire in Dublin in the early hours of the morning.



Four other men were rescued by two gardai from the building on St Joseph's Avenue in Drumcondra.



The guards were on patrol around 4.30am when they saw smoke coming from a property and broke into the building.



Four men who were asleep in a downstairs flat were awoken and led to safety.



Fire crews were called to tackle the blaze in an upstairs flat, where the body of a man in his 20s was found.



His remains have been removed to the city morgue and the scene has been sealed off for a forensic examination.
