A man has died after a tractor overturned on him in Co Tyrone.

The victim was hurt after the tractor rolled on to him on the Aghadulla Road outside Dromore around 2.30pm yesterday.

The man was last night being treated at the South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen where a spokesman confirmed he was in a critical condition.

The victim was treated at the scene by ambulance crews who rushed him to hospital.

The Health and Safety Executive have launched an investigation into the incident.

A spokesman said: "The Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI) is investigating a fatal incident that occurred on a farm in the Omagh area on December 9.

"Our thoughts are with the family at this most difficult time.

"We have no further comment to make at this stage of our investigation.”

A PSNI spokesman said the HSENI is leading the investigation and that they will prepare a report for the coroner.
