Man dies after car enters water off Dun Laoghaire pier

A man has died after a car entered the water off Dun Laoghaire pier this morning.

The car entered the water at Coal Quay harbour at 5.30am.

Dun Laoghaire lifeboat, and a Coastguard helicopter and Coastguard crew went to the scene.

Divers recovered the body of a man from the submerged car.

Gardai said the incident was "a personal tragedy."
