Man dies after being shot in the head at pub in north Dublin

A MAN has been fatally shot in the head at a pub in north Dublin this evening.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after being alerted shortly after 5.30pm.

The man was shot a number of times in the car park of Cumiskey's pub.

It's believed the man, aged in his 30s, was going to a Chinese restaurant close to the pub.

The man is understood to have a drugs-related conviction.

Witnesses reported hearing up to four gunshots being fired.

His body remains at scene and will be removed to the city morgue later tonight and a post mortem is due to take place in the morning.

A short time later a car was found burnt out on Blackhorse Avenue, not far from the scene.

Gardai in Cabra are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the vicinity of the pub between 5.30p.m. and 6 p.m. or anyone who can assist them in relation to the burnt out car on Blackhorse Avenue to contact them on 01 6667400, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 pr any Garda station.
