Daniel Meehan (21) from Primrose Hill in Celbridge, Co Kildare, died on January 1 this year after collapsing outside a nightclub in Leixlip at around 11.30pm.

He was rushed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown. The ambulance arrived at the hospital around midnight and he was pronounced dead half-an-hour later.

Friends who were with Mr Meehan said at no stage of the night did they think something was wrong with him.

Dr Muna Sabah who carried out a post-mortem on Mr Meehan said he did not have a significant amount of alcohol in his body when he died nor was there any evidence of a heart attack or asthma attack.

Dr Sabah said he died from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.

Coroner Kieran Geraghty ruled Mr Meehan died of natural causes and extended his deepest sympathy to the family.
