Man charged with having Glock pistol

A 37-YEAR-old man has appeared before a special Limerick District Court sitting charged with possession of a Glock pistol.

Sam O'Flaherty, of Henry Street, Limerick, was one of four men arrested in Limerick over the weekend following a search operation by gardai.

He is charged with possession of the Glock pistol in suspicious circumstances at his home, contrary to the Firearms Act. The matter was adjourned until tomorrow.

An English national, an Austrian and a Limerick man aged in their 20s and 30s were released without charge.

A file is being prepared for the DPP.
