Hi °C | Lo °C A MAN is recovering in hospital after he was attacked by a pitbull dog.
Nicholas Donegan, from Coolock, Dublin, was attacked while walking his labrador on Sunday evening.
He was allegedly set upon by a man who was walking the pitbull. The dog repeatedly bit Mr Donegan on his leg and hands.
He was rushed to Beaumont Hospital, where he was treated for injuries to his face, hands and leg.
A suspect was charged with assaulting Mr Donegan and appeared in court on Monday.
It is understood that the pitbull was later put down.
