Man arrested over tiger-kidnap
A man in his 20s was arrested today over a tiger-kidnap in which a bank clerk's housemate was held hostage.
The suspect was being questioned in Tallaght garda station, in south Dublin.
The incident took place on June 22, when a three-man armed gang burst into a house the pair were sharing. The bank employee was ordered to go to work as normal in the AIB on Crumlin Cross and steal €200,000.
His friend was released unharmed after a cash drop-off at the Red Cow roundabout later that day.
Gardai said the arrested man was being held under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
