A man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the seizure of around €22,000 worth of cannabis plants and cannabis herb last night.
Gardai seized the drugs during a planned raid of a house on the Galway Road, Tuam at around 10.25pm.
The man was arrested at the scene and was detained under the provisions Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Tuam Garda Station.
He was released without charge in the early hours of this morning and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Gardai carried out the raid as part of on-going intelligence-led operations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in Co. Galway.
A garda spokesperson said these operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks.
Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities, the spokesperson said.
