Man arrested in connection with seizure of €80k worth of cannabis plants

The man is expected to appear before Killarney District Court tomorrow morning.

A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with a drugs seizure in Killarney Co Kerry yesterday.

He is expected to appear before Killarney District Court tomorrow morning at 11am.

Gardai in Killarney have seized €80,000 worth of cannabis plants after an intelligence-led operation.

Gardai from the Killarney District Drug Unit assisted by uniformed officers from Killarney and the Regional Dog Unit conducted a planned search of a house in Muckross, Killarney yesterday evening and uncovered the narcotics.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and is being questioned under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Killarney Garda Station.

He can be questioned without charge for seven days.
