Man arrested following Garda raid of replica handgun and methadone worth €3,000

Gardai have arrested a man in his 50s relation to the seizure of a replica handgun and methadone worth €3,000 in Finglas yesterday.

Gardai believe the methadone, subject to analysis, has a street value of €3,000.

Gardaí from Finglas and Cabra drugs units raided the items at a house in the Abbotstown area of Dublin yesterday afternoon.

The man was detained at Fingals Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

He has been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
