Man arrested following Clare Hall Shopping Centre raid

The Clare Hall shopping centre, Dublin,

A 20-year -old man has been arrested in connection to a raid at Clare Hall Shopping Centre in the early hours of this morning.

At around 1210pm, man approached and threatened a cash-in-transit employee with an iron bar at the centre which is located on the Malahide Road in Dublin,

He took a cash box containing an undisclosed sum of money and made his escape in a waiting car.

Gardaí from Coolock arrested a 20-year-old male during a follow up operation.

The car used in the raid was located a short distance from the scene and has been preserved for a technical examination.

The cash box has not been recovered and enquiries are ongoing.

The arrested man is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Coolock Garda Station.
