Man arrested after woman's body discovered by cleaning staff in hotel room

A car was parked close to the hotel's entrance and was removed earlier this evening by gardai investigating woman's death

A man in his late 20s has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a woman's body in Tallaght.

The man was arrested this evening and is detained at Tallaght Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The woman's body was discovered at about 3.30pm today.

The body of the woman has been removed to the morgue at Tallaght Hospital. A post mortem will be carried out tomorrow.

It's understood cleaning staff at the hotel found the body and raised the alarm.

It's understood the woman is Irish, and maybe from the Tallaght area. She is believed to be in her early thirties.

A garda forensic team are conducting a full technical examination of the scene.

Earlier, a car parked at the front of the hotel was removed by the investigating team.

A full post mortem is expected to be conducted at a later stage.
