Man abducted and two brothers shot in separate incidents

Investigation underway after two brothers were shot in the north of Dublin city last night.

Investigations are underway this morning following the suspected abduction and assault of a man in West Dublin.

And in a seperate incident in the north of the city, two brothers escaped with their lives last night after they were targetted by a gunman.

Last night,  at approximately 7.15pm, a man was abducted by a gang at Cherry Orchard Court in Ballyfermot and driven to the Phoenix Park in the west of the city.

He was tied up and restrained for a period of time at a location at Military Road.

The man was beaten up and sustained serious injuries during the incident and is being treated in hospital this morning.

The crime scene was sealed off this morning and a garda forensic team was conducting an examination.

Meanwhile two brothers were recovering today after they were both shot last night.

A gunman opened fire on the brothers, aged 21 and 25, in the Cromcastle Court area in Coolock, in the north of the city late last night.

It is understood that the two men sustained non-life threatening injuries and were being treated in hospital today.

Gardai in Coolock are investigating and have appealed for witnesses.
