Man (76) killed in car crash

A 76-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Drogheda, Co Louth, last night.

The accident happened at around 7.30pm at the Roadhall roundabout, North Road.

The elderly man was the only person travelling in the car.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The road was closed last night to facilitate a forensic investigation.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses with any information to contact Drogheda Garda station on 041 9874200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
