Man (73) dies in house fire

The man's body remains at the scene while garda forensic team examine the scene

Gardai are investigating the cause of the house fire in Connemara.

A man (73) died in a house fire in Galway last night.

Gardai are investigating the cause of the fire which happened in Lower Camus, Rosmuc in Connemara at around 11:30pm yesterday.

Two units of Clifden fire brigade rushed to the scene and spent three hours bringing the blaze under control.

The body of the elderly man remains at the scene while gardai are carrying out a technical examination.

Gardai are not treating the man's death as suspicious.
